Born on September 11, 1958, in the small town of Naples, Texas, Ricky W. House Sr. entered the world in a humble home with the help of a midwife. Raised in a devout family, his father served as a pastor and his grandmother as a missionary, instilling in him a strong foundation of faith from an early age.
In 1963, the House family relocated to McKinney, Texas, where Ricky spent his formative years and completed his high school education. At 17, he met Betty, a fellow church member, and soon after, they married and were blessed with four children.
Ricky’s commitment to ministry began in 1976 when he became a Deacon at a church in Allen, Texas, focusing his efforts on youth ministry. After graduating from Bible School, he was ordained as an Elder and went on to establish his own church.
In 2001, Pastor House founded Eternal Life COGIC in Plano, Texas, where he faithfully served as Pastor until 2017. He stepped down to care for his wife during her illness, and after her passing in 2019, he felt called to return to pastoral work. Answering a request from a fellow pastor, he accepted the role of Associate Pastor, and within a year, was appointed Senior Pastor of The Word Church. Pastor Ricky House continues to lead with vision and dedication, guiding The Word Church as it grows and develops new ways to serve both God and the community.
